The Bobbin Winder Adapter is merely pushed over the bobbin winder as if it were a bobbin – and the carousel is inserted over it. It adapts the thread carousel to the vertical bobbin winder on most modern machines. The Bobbin Winder Adapter also has a removable lower thread guide for machines that need the thread to enter from a low angle. It is always necessary to balance the load on the Color-Go-Round thread carousel. The Bobbin Winder Adapter is fragile so that a seriously unbalanced load will break it before any damage can be done to the Bobbin Winder mechanism.
